Vaako

Air Genasi Monk (Open Hand)
Urchin

Vaako's parents never accepted their heritage as air genasi, despising the elemental vitality of their blood. They joined the Doomguard together, and moved almost permanently to Citadel Exhalus in the Plane of Vacuum.

Vaako was born there, an air genasi in a plane where there was no air. In truth, a plane where there was nothing at all! Understanding destruction and dissolution was the fate of all things, when Vaako's was 6 years old, his father,in a fit of depression, decided to end the lives of his whole family.

But Vaako's mother protected him, and fought to save him. Before dying at the end of her husband's knife, she managed to send Vaako through a portal to Sigil.  Young Vaako breathed his first breath of polluted air, and he looked at all the "things" that were there. What a marvel!

He soon fell in with a gang of street urchins, and survived by cheating and stealing for a few years. Until the fated encounter with Master Azallak, a githyanki monk looking for enlightenment in the Hive. When Vaako tried to steal his belt pouch, Azallak imparted a thorough lesson in pain to the young genasi, and then decided that he would serve him for the next five years.

What started as slavery, soon became a harsh training in the githzerai martial arts, the zerthin. When he completed his basic training, Azallak told him that a true Master must know the Multiverse, learn from the Infinite Possibilities, and stretch his legs daily!

Thus Vaako became a Planeswalker, He seeks to harness his true potential, an enlightenment that will only come to him once he travels the Great Wheel. And who knows, if he still lives, maybe a travel that will bring him once again face to face with his "beloved" father. Or whatever is left of him.

Death (session 36): Ripped apart by a vrock demon in the Abyss. Resurrected by Serghor.

Retired (session 38): He roams Malar's realm in Carceri, the Land of the Hunt, with his adopted tribe of savage hunters.
