Heroes: Meghera, Jade, Vaako
The Heroes arrive in Curst, gate-town to Carceri: the town is known to be very easy to access, but quite difficult to leave. They track Trolan down in a tavern, where he's discussing with his followers to come up with a way to leave Curst. While there, a group of Anarchists tries to assassinate Trolan, but their attempt is foiled by the Heroes.
With the tiefling and his cultists in tow, the Heroes attempt to leave the town, but are stopped at the gate by a Sgt. Qartz, who makes clear to them that they're not allowed to leave for a couple of days. Understanding that the gate-guard is targetting them specifically, they try to bribe him. A copious amount of gold, together with Trolan's supernatural charms, manage to persuade the corrupt soldier.
But as he begins to unlock the door, a madman clad in heavy armor, wielding the power of madness and winds, comes rushing out from the crowds to stop the Heroes. "You cannot leave!" he shouts "SHE needs the cultists dead, needs their blood to open all the doors!". As there's no way to parley with the barmy, the Heroes defend themselves as best they can, and eventually kill the cutter. Looking down at its corpse, Trolan recongnizes him as one of the former guests of Harbinger House.
The Heroes return to Sigil, passing by Ecstasy, and deliver Trolan to factol Ambar. The factol reveals unsettling news: the planarity, a magical artefact working as the key to Harbinger House and to all the portals contained within, has been stolen from his person. Whomever took it, is now in control of the House, and has access to the "powers-in-the-maikng" living there. Somehow, both the Heroes and Ambar believe Sougad the Law-Shredder must be involved.
After a night of rest, the Heroes, together with Trolan, make their way to Harbinger House. The impossible building is all acute and obtuse angles, a chaotic mess of doors and windows and leaning walls. As they approach the silent road in front of the entrance, the doors open wide, daring them to enter.
