Heroes: Meghera, Serghor, Jade, Vaako, Sarvaas
The Heroes are welcomed by the winged elves of Ilifar-in-the-Wind, the avariel. They have the chance to explore their beautiful city completely "grown" among the branches of a colossal tree. When they finally meet Prince Allarien, he confirms of having asked the wemics to divert the Modron March aways from his city. He also informs them that the March was sent this way by a mortai called Breath of Life. When the Heroes inquire about what a "mortai" is, the Prince explain that it is a veritable living gathering of cloud, extending several miles. After a feast with the avariel, the Prince points them to the mountains where they can find the mortai.

The Heroes travel to the southern mountains, in the distance stormy clouds await them. They climb the rocks until they reach a spacious platform, then they shout the name of the mortai to the winds. After a while, Breath of Life floats above them, the titanic faces of the creature taking shape among the clouds. When the Heroes ask the mortai about the modrons, he tells them that he only diverted them as a favour to a friendly nymph... Alisiphone herself!
Having realised that the whole issue originated with the nymph that asked them for help in the first place, the Heroes make sure that all parties involved are informed, and unravel this big mess. Eventually, the modrons are allowed to go back to their original path, and Breath of Life purifies the Lake and the river with his pouring rain.
When Alisiphone is once more a healthy nymph, she cures Sarvaas of his condition, and thanks the Heroes for all they've done for her and the creatures of the Beastlands.

Back in Sigil, the Heroes must deal with the after-effects of having visited the Beastlands. Their animal shapes slowly disappear, but for Aonar, Meghera, and Vaako the issue only worsens... they are polymorphed into their totem animals, body and soul! Luckily, a quick investigation from Serghor and Sarvaas reveals that the transformation can be reversed by a remove curse spell, which Serghor performs the day after.
While enjoying a period of downtime, where Meghera makes new friends, and Sarvaas new enemies, the Heroes all experience a weird dream. They find themselves in a walled arena, shaped like a hammer. Above them, iron bars frame a stormy sky. In the distance, a mountain can be seen, and a rumbling voice echoes from the top "Law or Chaos... Good or Evil... All that matters is..."As the words fade away, each Hero sees the others as threathening fiends.
A battle begins, old friends pitted against each other. The last man standing is Jade, who witnessing a giant, horned figure raising from the "mountain" throne on which it was sitting. With his thunderous voice, it utters again the words "All that matters is...". But when Jade answers with a single word "POWER!", the horned giant slams his titanic hammer on all the Heroes, obscuring the sky. When the hammer falls, the Heroes awaken.
