Session 13

Heroes: Meghera, Serghor, Jade, Vaako, Sarvaas

Meghera, Vaako and Sarvaas begin to investigate several of the murder scenes. At the Bunkhouse on Power Row, an Athar safehouse, they meet Jade and Serghor, who are also investigating the murders for personal reasons. They strike an alliance of sorts, and decide to continue together.

Visiting the murder scenes, the Heroes begin to see a pattern: several spell components related to spells of death and chaos have been found, and it appears clear that the murders are part of some sort of ritual to gathers such forces. Also, traces of talc have been found on several of the scenes, which leads the Heroes to check several warehouses that store the material.

Fate also nudges the Heroes in the right direction, when Harlique the Barmy, a young visionary, foretells the place of the next murder, near the Prison. The Heroes prepare an ambush for the killer, and confront him while he assaults his victim. The man possesses extraordinary magical powers, combined with the fighting prowess of a blademaster. They do not succeed in stopping the murder, but they do send the murderer on the run.

More weird events plague their investigation, from an assault to factol Ambar by a cambion fiend, aimed at provoking a diversion for a theft, to a party of Indeps under the influence of a "beautiful woman" attacking the Heroes for no apparent reason.

Eventually, the Heroes' efforts lead them to a paint warehouse where the killer, Sougad Lawshredder, awaits them. He leads them on a merry chase among the rooftops of Sigil, eventually stopping on the top floor of a building with a clear view on Bloodgem Park.

In the park, the cultists known as "Those Who Court the Lady" are performing their ceremony to attract the Lady's attention. Unfortunately for them, they succeed, and the Lady of Pain appears floating above them, her shadow spreading on the park, cutting to pieces whomever it touches. While the massacre takes place, Sougad faces the Heroes, but once again he escapes, this time through a portal. Before disappearing, he promises revenge, as he will soon be "a power of murder and chaos!"

After the massacre, Factol Ambar approaches Meghera, revealing that both Sougad and the massacre in Bloodgem Park are his responsibility, in a way. He explains to Meghera that the Godsmen are in charge of a place called Harbinger House, where they keep an eye on "powers-in-the-making", individuals with the spark of divinity on their path to ascension. Sougad was once a guest at the house, but he escaped. Another former guest, Trolan the Mad is the one who inspired the cultists in their love for the Lady.

But the Heroes may have a chance to solve both issues at once. The portal that Sougad used for his escape leads to Ecstasy, the gate-town to Elysium in the Outlands, which is also the home-town of Trolan. Ambar hires them to go to Ecstasy, and apprehend both fugitives.
