Heroes: Meghera, Zark, Vaako, Sai
The long hours of travel take their toll, as the githzerai guides and the Heroes begin to feel the need for rest. By catching the modrons into a paradox, the Heroes manage to convince them to stop for a few hours. While the march rests, a legion of blue slaadi attacks; the modrons suffer heavy losses, but eventually the slaadi are routed.
The march reaches the convergence of chaos, where a powerful vortex of chaotic matter puts the Heroes abilities to the test. While they focus their mental energies to stabilize the raw matter of chaos around them, they are assaulted by chaos mephits and a githyanki assassin set on stopping them. In their zeal to eliminate this threat, the Heroes lose the opportunity to interrogate the assassin to find out the reasons of the attack.
Having crossed the convergence, the Heroes find their way to the portal to Xaos; once "safely" inside the barmy gate-town, the Heroes leave the modron to their devices, and return to Sigil. There, factol Karan of the Xaositects rewards them with one of his paintings.
Looking for a buyer, Sai meets a Gentleman interested in aquiring the painting. When they cannot settle on a price, the Gentleman invites Sai to his mistress' home, in order to discuss directly with her about a fair price. The day after, the Heroes are escorted to the Lady's Ward, in a gigantic palace. They soon realize that whomever lives in the palace is "larger than life", in every sense. The titan Zadara welcomes the Heroes, buying the painting, and also enlisting them as her eyes and hears in the City of Doors.

While enjoying some downtime, a band of Tacharim enforcers break into Zark's home, holding his halfling servant prisoner. They demand to know what happened to previous owner of the compound, the wizard Valran, and especially what happened to his research about the modron. With powerful magic, Zark rapidly neutralizes the threat, and captures the invaders. After a short interrogation, he kills them and re-animates them as undead servants.

They find themselves on the shores of the lake where the Nic'Epona herd used to stop and drink. They follow horses' tracks until they reach the hut of an elderly shepherdess. Believing them to be feys from the Seelie Court, she offers them food and a place to sleep. During their stay, they learn about the fair king that rules the land, currently visiting the local keep, together with his court mage.
The day after, the Heroes resume their journey, bound to the keep. While crossing a cursed bog, they're attacked by a band of vicious trolls, suddenly jumping out from the murky waters. After a dangerous battle, Zark unleashes powerful fire-based magic, sending the monsters on the run.
