In a previous life he was Knight-Captain in the army of his Duke. During a long fought war against a invading army from across the seas he led part of the army in the field for close to a decade. 

Faithful to their triumvirate of gods, he was also a power within the temple of one of the gods. At the end of the war he was allowed to participate with the innermost of the clergy in a ceremony where an avatar of his god shortly manifested. 

Due to what was said here it dawned on him that the invasion was set up between the gods and their counterpart on the other continent to decide a dispute. Scarred with the sorrow of 9 years of fighting and the countless men and women he led to their death, and infuriated at the sudden meaninglesness of all his deeds he slowly grew in anger until after several minutes he snaped. 

He shouted down the conclave and cursed the avatar of his god in no meaningless way, swearing to divulge all. Angered in turn with this mortal the god wanted to destroy him and punished him in a way worse than death, he was banished from the world into the vastness of the planes.

Retired (session 62): He wanders the Multiverse, hunting his next prey.
