Heroes: Meghera, Serghor, Zark, Trull, So'Kehur
Trull and Serghor are sent back to Glorium, while Meghera, Zark, and So'Kehur return to Tradegate with the book. They find the Gentleman waiting for them, to bring them back to Sigil and deliver the tome to Zadara.
In Sigil, Meghera tries to run away with the tome, but she's subdued by Zark. She still manages to damage the Gentleman's bag of holding containing the tome, sending the magical book to the Astral Plane. With the book apparently lost, they all return to Zadara's mansion. There, Meghera has the chance to explain her problems with both the Tanaar'ri and the Baatezu. The Titan decides to forgive her, but there won't be any more mercy for the tiefling.
When Zark asks for the return of his body, Zadara decide to still keep it, until either the book is returned, or Zark can earn it with another service.
Serghor returns to Sigil, and casts a raise dead spell on Vaako. The genasi monk thanks his friend for bringing him back, but decides to retire for a time to the Lands of the Hunt (Malar's realm) in Carceri.

Serghor and So'Kehur are summoned by Factol Terrance of the Athar. He has a delicate mission for them. The Athar have a "guest", a man from the Prime who claims to have witnessed the death of a god. The Factol wants the Heroes to bring this man (who goes by the name of Eztli) to Pitiless, a prison in the Astral Plane.
Followers of this dead god have already tried to kill Eztli to shut him up, and the Athar want his somewhere safe for further interrogation in the future. As payment to the jailors, the Factol entrusts the two with a magical artifact, a crown forged by the Nagai to imbue the wearer with psionic abilities.

The Heroes meet Eztli, a barmy follower still devout to his dead god, whom he calls Aonar! Intrigued by the turn of events, the Heroes accept the mission, and make their way to the Astral Plane. They first travel to the Athar Citadel in the silvery void, where they learn about the peculiar traits of the Astral.
After a day, they leave the Citadel and begin travelling through the emptiness of the Plane. But they soon realise they're not alone: a pack of jaguar warriors from Eztli's world are hunting for them. As the fierce warriors approach, the Heroes prepare themselves.
